Pitching Instructor -KYLE BERNACIAK

 

Kyle grew up on the far southwest side of Chicago. Developing a love for the game at a young age, Kyle entered various travel baseball organizations beginning at 12U. Then, he spent four years playing at Brother Rice High School, a prominent institution in the Chicago Catholic League Blue. His senior season (2012), Kyle went 5-1 on the mound and was named an All-Area pitcher. 

He decided to continue his baseball career at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. There, he pitched for three seasons in both starter and relief roles. During his final year at Hope, Kyle transitioned to the role of student assistant coach. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English and History from Hope and was named to the MIAA All-Academic Team for three consecutive years.

Upon graduation, Kyle served as a member of the Chicago Police Department for nearly six years. He is currently a tech business consultant. 

Kyle places a deep focus on the fundamentals of pitching for any age. He is a big-believer in mastering all pitches, pitches sequences, and is adamant on pitch location. He will work with pitchers at young ages to develop crucial skills so becoming dominating forces on their teams. Furthermore, he will also work with high school-age pitchers on the mental side of pitching, grips, and arm conditioning.

Joe Mazzuca earned an athletic and academic scholarship to Northern Illinois University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2003. During his senior year as a Huskie, Joe was named the team’s MVP while posting very impressive numbers and set multiple records within the program. He hit .357, racking up 76 hits, 13 doubles, 10 home runs, 57 runs batted in, while slugging .587, setting program records for RBI and hits in a season, while leading the Huskies to the most wins in a single season. He was also selected to the All-MAC Tournament Team for the 2003 campaign. After his impressive senior season, Mazzuca was selected in the 12th round of the 2003 Major League Draft by the Florida Marlins. After playing within the Marlins Minor League system for two years, he went overseas and has been playing professional baseball in Italy since 2005. While in Italy, Mazzuca has helped lead his teams to three Italian League Championships in 2009, 2012 and 2013. Immediately after moving to Italy, he was named to the Italian National Team in 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2014.
